Gatorade is no good

By rogerprodactor

Gatorade is no good. Why you ask? The drink has way too much sugar for any athlete to consume prior to a work out. In a 32 ounce bottle theres over 30 grams of sugar! Thats a lot of sugar. According To Dr. Mirkin.com for more than 20 years athletes were to to avoid sugary foods 3 hours prior to a competition. Eating sugary foods prior to a work out can cause your blood sugar to go sky high and then go to low numbers. This can cause you to be terribly tired and pass out.

However recent research has shown that sugar can give you energy for an exercise but it still needs to be consumed a few hours prior to exercise. So why do we see gatorade commercials advertising athletes drinking the product during a workout? Doesn’t seem like the best idea in fact the best thing you can probably drink is water. Even if a little sugar is good prior to a workout Gatorade still has way too much.
