Heath or Jack?

July 24, 2008 by rogerprodactor

Heath or Jack? That is the question. Who played a better joker? If you ask me it’s almost a dead tie.  After seeing the Dark knight I immediatley went home to watch the original batman which was released in 1989. Jack nicholson’s joker was more of a twisted character. He was playful and very evil. The thing about it is that Jack nicholson possesses joker characteristics naturally. From his evil laugh to his evil grin which embody the jokers character completely. Thats how the joker is, he’s playful and evil.

As you can see from the photo, Jack nicholson looks really creepy.

How about heath? Heath was creepy too, don’t you think? The answer is yes he was and the difference is Heath played the role as more of a demented and twisted individual minus Jack nicholson’s evil laugh and his evil grin. But Heath played a pretty good psycho which is exectly what The joker is. Heath was very entertaining as the joker and for the new age it seemed as though thats how the audience would want the joker to be. Jack nicholson played more of a laid back role. He was definately more of a relaxed joker. Heath was more of an active, fast paced type of joker. Basically, since both roles were from two completely different time zones it’s hard to determine who would be better. If Jack played the joker in the Dark knight I’m sure he could’ve embodied the jokers character in the way that heath Ledger did and who knows maybe even better. Heath definately lived up to his expectations and definately delivered as the joker.

Gatorade is no good

July 24, 2008 by rogerprodactor

Gatorade is no good. Why you ask? The drink has way too much sugar for any athlete to consume prior to a work out. In a 32 ounce bottle theres over 30 grams of sugar! Thats a lot of sugar. According To Dr. Mirkin.com for more than 20 years athletes were to to avoid sugary foods 3 hours prior to a competition. Eating sugary foods prior to a work out can cause your blood sugar to go sky high and then go to low numbers. This can cause you to be terribly tired and pass out.

However recent research has shown that sugar can give you energy for an exercise but it still needs to be consumed a few hours prior to exercise. So why do we see gatorade commercials advertising athletes drinking the product during a workout? Doesn’t seem like the best idea in fact the best thing you can probably drink is water. Even if a little sugar is good prior to a workout Gatorade still has way too much.

text free

California missed the mark. Cell phone use on the road period is dangerous. But the one thing that should be illegal is texting on the road. To me thats far more dangerous than having the phone up to your ear while operating a vehicle. However, “Hands Free” devices are also a good idea especially when we have people driving manual vehicles. I just don’t think that people should be multi-tasking and putting lives in danger.  Texting needs a lot of a persons attention and can be far more dangerous than putting a phone up to you ear.

Texting while driving can be hazardous. Dialing generally doesn’t take as long as texting so its not as dangerous. an officer would easily be able to determine if someone is texting or dialing.  The law needs to be adjusted especially when people might resort to texting rather than putting a phone up to their ear. This can make the road much more dangerous than it already is especially in Los Angeles.

Radio at its finest

July 7, 2008 by rogerprodactor

So I was hanging out at a friends house the other day when I was introduced to this new website called Pandora. What pandora is is basically an online radio station that allows you to play music that you like. The way that it works is you chose an artist that you like and from there the program determines the type of music that you’re into. If it plays something you don’t like than you can tell it you don’t like the song it’s playing and it can narrow down what you’re into. The more you listen and filter out what you don’t like the more it plays only things you do like.

Now being someone who listens to music all the time, an Ipod  just isn’t enough.  Sometimes I want to listen to music and not have to worry about what I’m going to play next or not knowing what i want to play next aswell.  You can put your Ipod on shuffle ( randomly play songs) but you will never hear something new.  Pandora gives you a chance to listen to new music that you probably like and find out information on the artist playing. Many people have probably heard about this website but if you haven’t its definately worth checking out. What’s even more convenient is that you can listen to the radio station on the go if you have access to the internet on your phone or in your car.

With so many useless things around these days it’s good to see that someone out there decided to create a free and easy way to access music. By far I would have to say that this is the best way to do radio. XM is simply outdated and a waste of money especially when what you really want to listen to is easily accessed through this website.
